This darling miniature handwoven basket was woven of tiny, paper-thin hand-pounded ash split weavers and staves with dyed red ash "tulip flowers" with dyed ash green leaves woven into the front of this ash basket, lending itself to the Flower Garden name.
The miniature ash basket has a 1/2 round carved ash split wood stationary handle, cane lashing and green glass bead decorative knobs. The natural ash split will, over the years, develop a rich dark patina as the ash split ages, which is so prized with collectors.
Woven over a wood form to obtain the desired crisp shape, this basket measures approximately 3" long x 1.5" wide x 1.75" high, and 3" high at handle. It has been signed and dated by the basket weaver - Kathleen Becker / Simply Baskets.
