The handle of this Strawberry gourd art basket is the natural vine. This gourd art basket was then given a cheerful and colorful fabric liner in a coordinating vintage strawberry motif fabric, together with a natural color fabric rim, which has been lashed through the the gourd itself, becoming an integral part of this basket.
Two coats of clear varnish have been applied to both the body and lid of this basket, to protect the hand-painted strawberries and to preserve this lovely storage basket. The gourd itself has been left natural, with no stains or dyes. The clear varnish only enhances the natural texture and coloring of this gourd.
