Colorful hand woven Lidded Storage Basket in brilliant woven colors of natural, blue and red!
This large woven lidded or covered storage basket incorporations both spoke style basketweaving and plain style weaving. The sides of the basket are woven in natural, dyed blue and dyed red weavers with natural colored spokes forming the base and the sides.
The removable woven lid has a dash of red weaving along the side, which co-ordinates beautifully with the woven body of this lidded storage basket. A hardwood swing handle facilitates easy carrying and can fold down along the front or back of this basket to conserve space.
The hardwood basket swing handle is not only woven down into the body of the basket, but also supports the base of this woven basket making this woven storage basket very sturdy. The rims are flat reed with a seagrass filler between the rims and lashed in 1/4 flat reed in natural. All natural colors with no stain used. Over the years, this basket will develop a rich, dark color (patina) as the natural basketweaving materials age.
Signed and dated on the base and again inside the lid by the basketweaving artist, this lidded storage basket measures 16" high to the top of the basket swing handle, 10" high to the top of the rims and is 10" in diameter.
