Cherokee Indian Basket Tray White Oak
Handmade vintage Cherokee Indian basket tray, woven entirely of white oak, from the Cherokee, North Carolina area. This Cherokee Indian basket has achieved a rich patina on the inside and the sides, though the bottom of the base retains much of the white oak fresh color.
Thin strips of brown and tan dyed white oak were used as the weavers to weave this basket, and again for the lashing of the rims. The basket rims are also white oak, in natural. The graining of this Cherokee basket is just beautiful.
